There is something about Daylight Savings Time that renews my love for my home city and this weekend was a testament to that. Kevin and I had the best time bee bopping around Richmond exploring some of our favorite restaurants, Spring cleaning our home, and getting ready for a getaway to Miami. (see our last trip to Miami here.)
On Friday evening, we went to one of our favorite date night spots: Cinebistro at Stony Point Fashion Park. We are obsessed with this movie theatre and thoroughly enjoy the whole experience that Cinebistro offers. You can order Prosecco while you sit in a comfy seat to enjoy your movie? Sign me up. Tickets are more than a typical theatre, but this is the prime example of getting what you pay for bbs. We saw What Men Want! PS If you are curious about this experience for yourself, be sure to get your tickets ahead of time on Fandango. Weekends tend to fill up fast and you want to pick your favorite seats! We like the third row on the end.

I started my Saturday off with a hot barre class at The Hot Yoga Barre. Never have I ever left HYB thinking I could’ve worked harder or sweat more and that is what I love about this studio. These classes and heat get JUST the right amount of endorphins flowing to have a productive day. The Hot Yoga Barre has a studio in Willow Lawn and a studio opening in Midlothian in April!

After working out, I went to my favorite spot – North End Juice Co. – to get my morning celery juice (see why I love it here) and a bulletproof coffee. They have two locations, one in Midlothian and one in the Museum District of Richmond.

Kevin and I had planned to do a big Spring Cleaning this weekend. We needed to revamp our cleaning supplies and lets be real, is there such thing as a cleaning sesh without a Target run? I stalked up on cleaning supplies, my favorite Jasmine Bouquet candles (they smell divine even when they aren’t lit) and a new coconut coffee creamer. I found myself jumping out of bed excited to drink this coconut creamer on Sunday…………………………. this is not a joke. The best part of this magical tasting creamer is: it only has 4 g of sugar per serving.

Due to the caffeine intake from my bulletproof coffee AND my need to try this creamer in yet another coffee at home, I got a lot of cleaning done on Saturday. In fact, I didn’t know I was capable of so much cleaning in one swoop. We even switched out our old runner for our new oriental rug! Even though I failed to measure anything before ordering it online, I love the way it turned out. *will remember to measure next time*

I don’t know if I caught the cleaning bug from getting my office/closet completely organized last weekend or what but I am glad whatever bug I caught made me productive. In case you missed my office tour on Instastories, here are some photos of how it turned out. Shout out to my sister for helping me become organized!

After spending the entire day cleaning (how many times will I brag about cleaning? this is weird..), Kev and I ventured out to Little Saint RVA for dinner. I go there pretty often and it always is a delight. This time, I had the grits bowl (kale, grits, fried egg, hot sauce) with mushrooms. It was delish!

Yes, we ordered dessert. I couldn’t handle the thought of turning down Gelati Celesti cookies and cream gelato. Kevin scored the WPA (a local Richmond bakery) raspberry almond cheesecake. Both desserts were an experience in and of themselves!

On Sunday, we went to North End Juice Co. again (oops, we are addicted!) for Flu Fighters because Kevin has been feeling under the weather. Never heard of a Flu Fighter? Let. me. tell. you. Flu fighters from North End are amazing – they are smoothies that combine 2 of their wellness shots with mango and pineapple. I add Ashwagandha and/or Collagen Peptides to ours as well. I am usually not a smoothie person and tend to stick to juices but this Flu fighter concoction from North End is a BIG exception for me. Highly recommend!

Sunday was a big day for us because not only was it St. Patty’s day BUT one of our favorite shows, Billions on Showtime, was coming back for it’s Season 4 premiere. We don’t watch that much TV regularly so we really wanted to enjoy this one! Our goal for the day was to get all of our work done, go out to dinner, and be back in time to enjoy Billions at 9 PM. Sure enough, we had our feet up, wine poured, and Cheez-it’s ready for the premiere after a delicious dinner at Can Can Brasserie in Carytown.

After a yummy dinner at Can Can and finishing all of our work over the weekend, we truly enjoyed the Season 4 premiere of Billions! The jasmine bouquet candles from Target really took our Sunday night experience up a notch.

Thanks for coming along with me on my weekend in Richmond. I hope you guys enjoyed your St. Patrick’s Day! X
