Is there anyone, I mean ANYONE who doesn’t enjoy a decadent charcuterie board? Personally – I could eat one for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In my opinion, there is no better combination than meats, cheeses, dips, and spreads. Preferably, one that is Instagrammable.

Since 2020 has been the year of stay-at-home, I haven’t been able to pop into my favorite local restaurants to get a quick charcuterie board and glass of wine with friends as often as I’d like. From the looks of Instagram, it seems like everyone has the same idea: DIY Charcuterie Boards. And they look damn good.

With a little one running around at home, I don’t always have time to do the whole nine yards for my charcuterie board but I still need my fix more often than not. In these cases, I focus on cheeses, crackers, and meats. Emphasis on the cheese. I love cheese. Everyone loves cheese. Here are my 5 go-to cheeses for a simple OR decadent charcuterie spread that are available at most grocery stores.

Manchego Cheese: I am not a snob about how aged my manchego is because I love ALL manchego. This Spanish cheese can be aged anywhere from 2-60 years and is sheeps milk cheese. It’s one of my faves.
Boursin Cheese: I am sure you are familiar with this oh-so-soft cheese. It is always the first one to go in my house. It is equal parts creamy and crumbly and the variety of options doesn’t hurt either.
Everything Goat Cheese: I blame Trade Joes for my obsession with everything seasoning on well…everything. I saw this goat cheese at Wegmans at the beginning of 2020 and have had it on my grocery list since. Like the name implies, this cheese is from goat’s milk. Give it a whirl, it’s delish.
Fontina Cheese: Fontina is an Italian washed-rind cow’s milk cheese. Super soft and I’m not going to lie, it reminds me of string cheese. I love the consistency and flavor of this cheese!
Cream Cheese: Call me basic, but cream cheese is delicious on just about everything – especially a good cracker. I love to add cream cheese to my charcuterie spread and it is always a crowd pleaser.

There you have it, 5 delicious and easy cheeses for a quick charcuterie board. I hope you enjoy, cheese is good for the soul!
