On this week’s episode of Manifest with Cath Claire, I had the honor of interviewing Matthew Kocel, the rare and gifted musician whose music filled the room at Dr. Joe Dispenza’s Advanced Follow-Up Retreat in Marco Island, Florida—and blew my heart wide open.
If you’ve ever attended a Dr. Joe Dispenza retreat or practiced one of his meditations, you know how deeply transformative they can be. I’ve been doing his meditations for over six years now—in different countries, in rooms full of hundreds of people, with various facilitators, and under countless circumstances. And yet, the meditation I experienced in Marco Island with Matthew Kocel’s music was unlike anything else. It felt as though the sound itself cracked my chest wide open, creating space for a level of manifesting and presence that I’ll never forget.
The Power of Music in Manifesting
When people ask me how to manifest, I often talk about thoughts, emotions, and actions—but what I’m learning is that music is also a powerful portal. Sound bypasses the analytical mind and speaks directly to the body and the subconscious. It moves energy. It clears blocks. It creates coherence between the heart and brain in a way that words often can’t.
Matthew Kocel’s music does exactly this. His soundscapes—layered with throat singing, overtone chants, and instruments that feel both ancient and modern—create an environment where the ordinary slips away and you step into the extraordinary.
As Dr. Joe Dispenza himself has said:
“Matthew Kocel’s music is so primal, so rich and brilliantly soulful… It touches us on a profoundly deep level and opens our hearts.”
And from my personal experience, I couldn’t agree more.
Who Is Matthew Kocel?
Matthew Kocel hails from the rugged coast of British Columbia, Canada. He is a throat singer, multi-instrumentalist, recording artist, and healing arts practitioner with over three decades of experience. His music defies genres—it’s equal parts ethereal and grounding, modern yet ancient, and deeply familiar in a way that feels cellular.
Drawing inspiration from Mongolian throat singers, Tibetan monks, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd, his sound blends cultures and eras into a vibrational medicine for the soul. The harmonic overtones of his voice—where two, three, or even more notes can be heard at once—create a resonance that feels like it’s rising from the Earth itself.
Why His Music Matters at a Joe Dispenza Retreat
At a Joe Dispenza retreat, everything is designed to help participants shift out of old patterns and into new states of being. The meditations, the teachings, the practices—they all prepare you to step beyond your limitations and step into the unknown. But it’s the music that carries you through.
Matthew’s sound became the bridge in Marco Island. It carried us deeper into our hearts, dissolving resistance and pulling us into coherence. It’s one thing to hear Joe Dispenza talk about creating from the field instead of matter—it’s another to feel that truth vibrating through your entire being, carried by Matthew’s voice.
This is what made my heart feel like it blew wide open. His music didn’t just complement the meditation; it amplified it, helping me embody manifesting on a cellular level.
Sound Healing on a Global Scale
Beyond retreats, Matthew Kocel is a recognized leader in the global sound healing movement. He serves as a committee member of the Global Wellness Institute Sound Healing Initiative, and his work is reaching audiences worldwide. His upcoming third album, Song of the Ancients, continues his mission to bring healing frequencies to as many people as possible.
Reactions to his music are well documented. People share stories of transcendence, visions, and even physical healing while listening to his recordings. In a world that often feels noisy and disconnected, Matthew is offering something rare: sound that reconnects us to ourselves and to the oneness of everything.
Why This Matters for Manifesting Your Dreams
If you’re here because you’re curious about manifesting your dream life, Matthew’s work is an important reminder: manifesting isn’t just about vision boards or affirmations. It’s about raising your vibration. It’s about creating an inner state of wholeness, coherence, and alignment so that your outer world naturally reflects it.
Sound is one of the fastest ways to create this shift. It helps you bypass old thought patterns, enter deeper states of meditation, and connect with your heart—all of which are essential for manifesting.
