Last Minute Moon Rituals for Feb. 19th Full Moon

The super full moon in Virgo is upon us and if you are on the east coast like me, it will strike just before 11 am tomorrow. Watch out bbs because this full moon is packing quite the energetic punch.

A full moon ritual can be a number of things but most of all, it is a reminder to get introspective and quiet with yourself. While new moon’s are about planting new seeds of desire/intention, full moons are about nourishment. Full moon rituals harness the natural power of the moon in our lives and are performed 24 hours before or after the full moon in your time zone. I know you are relieved because who can stop what they are doing in the middle of the day and salute the moon? Not this girl. Note that the light of this moon is extra strong and the pull of its energy is extra intense because this is the closest full moon to the earth this year.

Here are some rituals I personally like to use around the full moon:

  1. Put an opened, glass container of spring water (or water from a local body of water) outside during the full moon. Leave it outside for 24 hours around the full moon with your favorite crystal placed in it to charge the water for teas, to use as perfume, to add to baths etc. I love how this simple ritual adds a little magic into my life.
  2. This full moon is all about creating boundaries while simultaneously gaining liberation in your life. Grab your journal and dig deep about where you can add healthy boundaries in your life. Also take some time to notice where you overthink and choose to retreat in fear instead of challenging your fears in your life. End this journaling session with a clear intention for moving forward with boundaries and releasing personal fears with this moon cycle.
  3. You didn’t think I would close this post without mentioning the importance of meditating around the full moon did you? My favorite full moon meditation is Dr. Joe Dispenza’s “Body Parts in Space.” It is an hour long and really forces you to acknowledge the habits you want to release with this full moon. I recommend doing this meditation after your full moon journaling session.

Like I mentioned earlier, this Feb 19, 2019 full moon is super close to Earth – the closest it will be all year. Harness this lunar energy today by journaling, meditating, making moon water, or whatever seems fit for you personally. What are some of your full moon rituals? I’d love to here!

If my full moon rituals don’t resonate with you, just promise me you will take some time to marvel at the sky today wherever you may be. Lots of love and moon light. XO, Cath.

The moon does not fight. It attacks no one. It does not worry. It does not try to crush others. It keeps to its course, but by its very nature, it gently influences. What other body could pull an entire ocean from shore to shore? The moon is faithful to its nature and its power is never diminished.  -Ming-Dao Deng, Everyday Tao: Living with Balance and Harmony

Find yourself under a full moon? Recite:
Beautiful moon radiate wealth into my life with your light! (Repeat three times).
